WELCOME TO WALTER N. BROWNELL POST

Teamwork ~ Leadership ~ Commitment

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Announcements

Post 3137 Comrades and Auxiliary,

Here comes Summer to The Post on the Coast. Our next Comrade meeting will be on Monday, June 10th at 6:30 pm. We will have a Swearing in Ceremony for our incoming Officers, and they will Start their year (2024-25) following installation of new State Commander on June 24th. I've had the Honor of being Our Post Commander the past 2 years and I feel we have come together as a Team for the Good of the Order. We will be awarded All State and All-American Post honors for the 8th year in a row year, Let's keep up the good work in our community and State, continuing this Great Honor for years to come.

This past Memorial Day weekend we had 20 Comrades and Auxiliary members place almost 800 flags on Veteran graves at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. I Thank all that came out as well as the Pickup crew the day after Memorial Day (Teamwork).  Our Paver project has been updated with 37 new additions. We are now making a profit from this project. If you haven't gotten one for yourself yet, now is the time. You can also get one for a loved one or great Veteran you may know.

Due to some members bringing in more than the allotted guests on Windjammer Concert nights before our Security person starts, we have implemented a policy of closing from 5-6 pm those nights so we can Let our Comrades and Aux. enjoy their post without overcrowding. It also gives Bartenders time to regroup and clean up before the onslaught of a large crowd. During shows the front door is the only entry point to Post, also no alcohol is to be passed to anyone on Windjammer side at any time. Standing on Picnic tables and the stair landing is also forbidden. All members are responsible for your guest’s behavior etc. If you leave the Post so must your guests. We also would like to stress placing your empty containers into available trash cans. If you see something Say something! We will have a House Committee member at each large show as bartenders cannot serve y’all and watch the crowd at the same time.

Again, I Thank you all for your Support these past 2 years. I plan on staying around serving on The House Committee (Vote for me at 10 June meeting please). Our incoming Commander Bryan Brooks (My Sr. Vice Cmdr.) the past 2 years is Very prepared to continue our Legacy as a All State & All-American Post (Only 287 posts out of over 6,000). Please Welcome him and his incoming Team with open arms. Remember 'WE' are The Post on The Coast!

In Comradeship
